Canada Bulk Transmission Land Access(3-CAN)
In Canada, a developer (Lessee) may need a Lease of Designated Lands or a Lease of Locatee Lands from the Department of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (Department) for any project requiring exclusive possession of reserve land. Additionally, a person (developer) must obtain a lease on Band land (Lease of Designated Lands) from the Department of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (Department) to develop a project that requires the exclusive right to use and occupy the land. A person (developer) must also obtain a lease (Lease on Locatee Lands) from the Department of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (Department) in coordination with a Locatee if the project requires the exclusive use of the Locatee’s land for a specified period.
