Minesto Holyhead Deep Array

Minesto is planning to install a utility-scale low-velocity tidal kite array off the northwest coast of Wales in an area known as Holyhead Deep. The project is predated by a the Holyhead Deep Pilot project, which involved the deployment of a single, non grid-connected, 0.5 MW Deep Green device. Minesto’s long-term plan is to gradually expand the Holyhead Deep site to a grid-connected commercial array of tidal kites with a total installed capacity of up to 80 MW.
