Marine Energy Technologies


Marine energy technologies are organized into four resource categories: wave, current, thermal gradient, and salinity gradient. These technologies are associated with all the devices in the Projects Database and illustrate the fundamental principles by which they operate. A description of each technology type is provided when clicking on the images below, along with a list of the devices using that technology. For a description of the Power Take-Off (PTO) systems integrated into marine energy devices, refer to PRIMRE PTOs.
