ISWEC Solar Hybrid Installation Near Ravenna

Starting in 2016 Eni partnered with Wave for Energy to collaborate on the construction and deployment of a hybrid wave-solar Inertial Sea Wave Energy Converter System (ISWEC) off the coast of Ravenna, Italy. The 1:2 scale prototype was deployed in December of 2018 and then in February of 2019 it was equipped with the photovoltaic cells and integrated into Eni's PC80 platform through their "Smart" grid system.

The ISWEC device itself is rated for 50 kW and peak power for this project was reported at 51 kW, however, public announcements by Eni are unclear about the individual amount of power that was generated from wave and solar energy.
