Capul Tidal Energy Farm

Philippines project developer H&WB Asia Pacific selected SABELLA as a turbine supplier to harness the tidal stream resource of the San Bernardino Strait under three service contracts, for a total estimated tidal power capacity of 500 MW in the strait. The first project is under development to feed electricity to Capul Island and its 15,000 inhabitants. The island's current electrification rate is at 60% and the rest of its energy needs are met using costly and polluting diesel generators. https://events.development.asia/system/files/materials/2022/03/202203-sabella-pioneering-tidal-stream-energy.pdf https://tethys-engineering.pnnl.gov/sites/default/files/publications/AWTEC2018-360.pdf
