3MW Lanzarote Wave Park

Enzen, as a part of the strategic collaboration agreement with the governing agency Cabildo de Lanzarote, will establish a grid-connected submerged wave farm off the coast of Lanzarote, west of La Santa, considered to be an area with a large and consistent wave energy resource.
The first phase of the project will see the commercial installation of a single Bombora mWave device with up to 3 MW of generating capacity. The power generated by the fully-submerged wave energy device will supplement the island’s existing electricity supply (of which 91% is produced from fossil fuels) while preserving the island’s rugged and pristine coastal environment. The project is currently progressing through the planning and consenting process. A metocean and hydrographic survey was complete in late 2019 at the proposed deployment site.
