Smart Monofloat
The Smart Monofloat by Smart Hydropower is a riverine turbine equipped with a debris deflector and the shroud to enhance the speed of passing fluid. The turbine, rated at 5 kW, has blades 1000 mm in diameter which rotate 230 RPM in peak flow condition of 3.1 m/s. It utilizes a single float to keep it near the surface of the water. The shape of the float allows the device to submerge itself in high flow conditions and avoid potential debris. The debris deflector which protects the blades is a mesh made from metal chords tensioned to a forward facing V-shaped metal extrusion. The Turbine shroud is attached to the the rear of the turbine and acts a diffusor.
