Seabased WEC
The energy of the waves, powered by wind and weight of the water, is collected by huge steel buoys. The buoys transmit the energy through a steel line to generators on the seabed that convert it into mechanical energy. That energy then moves, through cables, to a switchgear which converts it into electrical energy. Cables carry that electrical energy to the gridThe system's linear generator, the Seabased WEC S2.7, is designed to efficiently extract power from the 1-3 meter high swell waves.
