SINN Power WEC
The SINN Power WEC is designed for use in arrays. The single unit is a liner point absorber that rides the surface waves - the linear oscillating motion drives a pushrod which is used to operate a linear generattor. Early prototypes of the device appear to be designed for attachment to coastal structures such as piers, groins, or breakwaters, however future designs will operate in scalable arrays that are connected together with a surface truss matrix. For an individual unit, the float has a diameter of 2 meters and the overall unit is approximately 10 meters high. According to tank testing, SINN Power believes their design an withstand 7m high breaking waves.
