Pico Oscillating Water Column
The concrete structure of the chamber (square planform with inside dimensions at mean water level) was designed to be built in-situ on rocky bottom (about 8 m water depth), spanning a small natural harbour. The top of the chamber and the turbine axis were 11.5 m and 9.8 m, respectively, above mean water level. The volume of the air chamber was 1050 cubic meters. The thickness of the side walls of the chamber was 1.0 m, and the thickness of the back wall was 1.5 m. The upper part of the front wall (inclined at an angle of 28 degrees with respect to the vertical) was 1.5 m-thick, whereas the lower vertical part was 2 m-thick, with a rounded lip. The front wall submergence was 3.7 m.
