OceanQuest HydroQuest

HydroQuest’s proprietary turbine technology has high yield due to the set of crossflow turbines rotating about dual vertical axes. The device has an all-metal construction fixed on the sea floor for better resistance to impacts and a fixed-position bi-directional system which provides good yield without pitch or yaw. Dimensions and weights of units can be adapted to service boats. From 2019 to 2021, HydroQuest successfully tested a 1 MW prototype at Paimpol-Brahat Tidal Test Site and is now seeking opportunities to demonstrate a second generation turbine with a 2.5 MW capacity (measuring 21 m in height and 26 m in diameter).
