Nova M100

The Nova M100 is a non-yawing horizontal-axis tidal turbine that uses a gearbox to generate electricity. The M100 has a two-blade rotor, 9 m in diameter, with a hub height of 9 m. The device is bottom-mounted with a "T" shaped tripod substructure (13.5 m x 12.2 m footprint) and ballasted with 14 individual concrete blocks. The total dry weight is 146.3 t and the total wet weight is 93.4 t. The device works in a maximum sustained tidal speed of 2.6 m/s. Nova Innovations has now shifted to producing a next-generation turbine called the Nova M100D.
