Ecole Centrale de Nantes Searev

The principle of the SEAREV consists in recovering the energy of the waves thanks to an oscillating pendulum mass contained in a floating closed system, connected to the ground by an adequate mooring. A system for controlling the relative movement between the float and the mass makes it possible to maximize this energy recovery. The movement of the mass is transmitted to a direct electric generator, the rotor of which is attached to the rotating shaft of the pendulum mass. The recovered power is processed by an electronics and power transformation system, then transmitted to the network using a dynamic submarine cable
