DUO WEC

A two part system using two rings, one floating, one submerged. The combined system is loosely tethered to the sea-floor using a catenary mooring system. The ring-shaped float on the surface is where the power take-off system is located. Three sets of cables connect the floating ring to the submerged ring, which appears to serve as a ballasted heave plate of sorts. When the floating ring moves with wave motion, cables are both slackened and tensioned, depending on which side of the buoyant float is lifted or falling. The PTO appears to be comprised of three linear generators that are driven by a pully linkage system connected to the cables.
