Altum Green Energy produces two marine hydrokinetic turbine variants, the Altum .7 and 1.5. These axial flow turbines fill a gap in the energy supply mix by generating 10kW of clean, predictable baseload power that can be deployed in arrays. These compact units have a .9 electrical efficiency, generating more electricity from the flowing water with less effort. The direct drive units have permanent magnet synchronous generator very few other moving parts. The Altum Turbines can be used in riverine or tidal environment and can operate four turbines off one controller.
