Sunlabob is a Lao private commercial company, set up in 2000 and licensed in 2001. The company operates as a profitable, full-service renewable energy provider, providing commercially-viable energy services for remote areas where the public electricity grid does not yet reach. Since 2008, when Sunlabob launched an Energy Efficiency department, the company not only focuses on rural areas, but also on urban ones, conducting energy audits, energy efficiency consultancies for buildings and factories, and supplying and installing energyefficient materials. In 2009, Sunlabob became the first private Energy Saving Company (ESCo) in the Lao PDR. Starting with a team of 3 people, Sunlabob has grown into a company with a team of 42 full-time Lao and international staff. Its headquarters and base are in Vientiane, the capital of the Lao PDR.
