1-TX-a.1 – Land Use Planning Delegated to Municipalities
Land use planning in Texas is delegated to municipalities. Tex. Loc. Gov't Code Ann. § 213.002. Municipalities may adopt a comprehensive plan for the long-range development of the municipality. Tex. Loc. Gov't Code Ann. § 213.002. A developer should check with the local comprehensive plans and any related local development regulations to ensure their project complies with Tex. Loc. Gov't Code Ann. § 213.002.
