1-NM-a.1 – Land Use Planning Delegated to Municipalities and Counties
Land use planning in New Mexico is delegated to municipalities and counties. N.M. Stat. Ann. §§ 3-19-1–3-19-12; N.M. Stat. Ann. §§ 4-57-1–4-57-3. Municipal and county land use planning commissions develop master plans to guide the physical development within their jurisdiction. These master plans typically address issues such as land use, water, transportation, economic development, and infrastructure. Community Planning website.
