Louisiana Geothermal Land & Geothermal Resource Access(3-LA)
In Louisiana, a developer may need a State Geothermal Lease from the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources in order to explore and develop geothermal resources in the state. A developer must obtain lease in order to utilize lands belonging to the state or the title to which is in the public domain, including road beds, water bottoms, and lands adjudicated to the state at tax sale. La. Admin. Ann. § 30:801.
