OEDI SI PRIZE
“Use cases” are the most salient component in navigating the OEDI SI Platform. They represent different numerical analysis challenges in solar generation integration. They are used to catalog different algorithms and approaches to a well-defined power system integration problem. A set of “Scenarios”, that cover diverse set of what-if solutions and approaches using physics and ML based methods, are provided under each use case.
Past Prizes
FY2023 Net-load Forecasting Prize, launched in co-sponsorship with EPRI, incentivizes forecast providers to develop and demonstrate the quality and performance of their probabilistic net-load forecasting tools to the larger forecasting industry, while continuing to promote the adoption and integration of probabilistic forecasts and FA by grid operators and other end-users.

FY2024 Data-Driven Distribution Prize incentivized the adoption of DSSE software and demonstrates the quality and performance of state estimation approaches to the larger electric distribution network planning and operations industry. It also promoted the adoption and integration of advanced distribution networks analyses and the Open Energy Data Initiative for System Integration (OEDI SI) platform to grid operators, planners and other end-users.

About DOE's Data Foundry
Data Foundry is a collaborative data management tool developed by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for use by DOE, national labs, and private industry partners. It was developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to enable multi-institutional collaboration and provide consistent and convenient access to project data and assets.
Access to data stored in a Data Foundry project is controlled by the OpenEI authentication system, which allows users to login through an OpenEI or Google account. Each user is then assigned an access level to one or more spaces. Each space is completely separate from the others, so users from one space cannot see projects from another. Individual user rights control who can make edits within a space, with varying degrees of functionality.
