Carbon Dioxide Emissions Associated with Bioenergy and Other Biogenic Sources

From Open Energy Information

The 'EPA Climate Change - Green House Gas Emissions - Carbon Dioxide Emissions Associated with Bioenergy and Other Biogenic Sources' website is focused on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from bioenergy and other biogenic sources.

Overview

The "EPA Climate Change - Green House Gas Emissions - Carbon Dioxide Emissions Associated with Bioenergy and Other Biogenic Sources" website is focused on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from bioenergy and other biogenic sources. This includes CO2 generated from: the biological decomposition of waste in landfills, wastewater treatment or manure management processes; CO2 from the combustion of biogas collected from biological decomposition of waste in landfills, wastewater treatment or manure management processes; CO2 from fermentation during ethanol production; CO2 from combustion of the biological fraction of municipal solid waste or biosolids; CO2 from combustion of the biological fraction of tire-derived fuel; and CO2 derived from combustion of biological material, including all types of wood and wood waste, forest residue, and agricultural matter.

Highlights

There are several related EPA documents, including: EPA, 40 CFR Part 60, "Standards of Performance for New Stationary Sources and Emission Guidelines for Existing Sources: Commercial and Industrial Solid Waste Incineration Units"[1], the final GHG Tailoring Rule[2]; and other Biogenic CO2 regulations and standards, available from the site.[3]
