Western Renewable Energy Generation Information System (WREGIS) tracks renewable energy generation and creates certificates for every renewable energy credit (REC) generated, which are used to demonstrate compliance with state RPS policies. One REC represents one megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity generated from a renewable resource.
