- OpenEI might be able to provide particularly interesting information and analysis related to utility-scale compressed air energy storage (CAES). This could consist of maps showing where wind resources, CAES-friendly geological formations, electricity transmission lines, and consumption centers (cities) are all within suitable proximity of one another. Further, it would be very nice to get actual performance data from existing CAES projects and/or tests (such as the Iowa Stored Energy Park).
