Energy Engineers Session 9: Renewable Energy Jobs

Description: In this activity from Mystic Aquarium's Energy Engineers curriculum, mentees will learn about renewable energy jobs. Then they will play a card game to explore some renewable energy projects and the people who work on them. The Energy Engineers curriculum is part of Mystic Aquarium's STEM Mentoring program and is designed for youth ages 6 to 10 working with a mentor in small groups of four mentees per mentor. However, this activity is adaptable to a wide range of ages and is appropriate for youth in elementary, middle, and high school. The "Session 9: Renewable Energy Jobs" download includes the Program Coordinator Guide, Mentor Manual, Mentee Manual, and Renewable Energy Quartet Cards needed for the activity. The Renewable Energy Quartets Cards are also available as a standalone download.

Topics explored: Name and describe various jobs in the field of renewable energy; Explain how various renewable energy projects work; and Describe how people with different backgrounds and skill sets contribute to the field of renewable energy.
