Morocco-NREL Energy Activities

From Open Energy Information

CDER Cooperation

National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) activities in Morocco began in the early 1980's as a collaboration between SERI and the Center for Development of Renewable Energy (CDER) as part of USAID support for the creation of CDER in the early 1980's. Recent U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)/NREL activities in Morocco have focused on building capacity at both the policy and technical levels through training and technical assistance. This collaborative work has included the following activities:

  • Technical assistance to the national strategic plan for renewable energy and energy efficiency.
  • Accreditation of CDER's renewable energy training center to international framework standards.
  • Support for and participation in the Third US-Africa Energy Ministerial Conference.[1]
