Summary
The Montana Rangeland Resources Act establishes a program of rangeland management, to preserve Montana rangeland for livestock, wildlife habitat, high-quality water production, pollution control, erosion control, recreation, and the natural beauty of the state. The Act also provides for the cooperation and coordination of range management activities. The program aims to promote and coordinate the adoption and implementation of sound range management plans to minimize conflicts between governmental agencies and private landowners, aid the development of zoning and planning regulations, and coordinate range management research. The Act further establishes a loan program to aid the conservation of rangeland resources.
