Global Atmospheric Pollution Forum Air Pollutant Emission Inventory

From Open Energy Information

The GAP manual and Excel spreadsheet provide a simplified and user-friendly framework for emissions inventory preparation. It is suitable for use in different developing and rapidly industrialising countries and is compatible with other major international emissions inventory initiatives.

Approach

The GAP manual provides inventory methods for estimating emissions from numerous sources, including: fuel combustion and transformation; fugitive emissions from fuels; industrial process emissions; and emissions from solvents, agriculture, vegetation fire, forestry and the disposal of wastes. Several air pollutants are covered, too. An Excel workbook has been prepared as a companion to the GAP manual for use as a tool in preparing national inventories.
