Equipment Requirements Heat Pumps and A/C: must replace existing systems, have a SEER value equal to or greater than 14, and include an ECM fan motor

Geothermal Heat Pumps must have an EER of 10.5 or higher and include an ECM fan motor.



Installation Requirements Contractor must have home ENERGY STAR certified to receive incentive.

Heat pumps must be installed by certified heat pump technician in existing single family homes, condominiums or duplexes.

Summary

The Smart $aver® program offers incentives for residential customers to increase their home’s energy efficiency. Incentives are provided for qualifying heating and cooling equipment installation or service, attic insulation with air sealing, and duct sealing. Duke Energy Indiana electric residential retail customers residing in a single-family home, condominium, duplex or mobile homes are eligible for the incentives. All incentives are paid after completion of the services.
