"In this webinar series, two expert panels—including government, industry, and financial experts from countries across several continents—explored how countries can use policies to build a clean energy economy by stimulating venture capital investments in new renewable energy companies. Panelists discussed policy experiences and approaches from their own countries, described best practices from their operating viewpoints, and developed theories as to how best design future policies. The panelists converged on several themes highlighting (1.) the importance of developing a portfolio of stable, long-term policy across the whole technology development and transfer value chain, which (2.) allows a functioning network of entrepreneurs, investors, and supporting industries alike to feel comfortable to experiment and take risks in an already speculative marketplace."
