Equipment Requirements | Refrigerators/Freezers: Appliance being replaced must be operable, manufactured before 1993, used as a secondary unit, and be 10-27 cubic feet in size. Energy star appliances: include Energy Star Window Air conditioner; Energy Star Heat Pump Water Heaters, Energy Star Ceiling Fans; and Energy Star Dehumidifier.

Summary
Ameren Illinois Utilities (AmerenIP, AmerenCIPS, and AmerenCILCO) offer residential customers incentives for certain energy efficiency upgrades and improvements. Incentives are currently available to residential homeowners for lighting, refrigerator/freezer recycling, certain ENERGY STAR appliances, and HVAC upgrades. Lighting incentives are offered through purchase discounts while other equipment rebates are issued through rebates. Appliances must be certified as ENERGY STAR and all HVAC equipment must meet the program requirements listed on the program web site.
