About

The United Nations Foundation, a public charity, was created in 1998 with entrepreneur and philanthropist Ted Turner’s historic $1 billion gift to support UN causes and activities. We link the UN’s work with others around the world, mobilizing the energy and expertise of business and non-governmental organizations through advocacy, partnerships, constituency building and fund-raising to solve global challenges. Our work in support of the UN includes: innovative health campaigns, conservation & livelihoods, mobile technology, women’s health & rights, UN advocacy, and reducing carbon emissions.
