Thermal Gradient Holes At Blue Mountain Geothermal Area (Fairbank & Niggemann, 2004)

From Open Energy Information

Exploration Activity: Thermal Gradient Holes At Blue Mountain Geothermal Area (Fairbank & Niggemann, 2004)

Exploration Activity Details
Location Blue Mountain Geothermal Area
Exploration Technique Thermal Gradient Holes
Activity Date 1996 - 1999
Usefulness useful
DOE-funding Unknown

Exploration Basis
Temperature gradient measurements were made for the initial geothermal evaluation of the Blue Mountain Geothermal Resource.

Notes
Temperature gradient measurements were made in existing holes that were drilled during the exploration for precious minerals at Blue Mountain. Measurements were made in 12 holes to depths ranging from 50 to 215 m. These measurements confirmed temperatures of at least 150°C for the inferred geothermal reservoir.
