Summary

In August 2010, Sarasota County introduced the Get Energy Smart Retrofit Program for residents of Sarasota County, City of Sarasota, City of North Port, and City of Venice. Funds are given out on a first-come, first-served basis. A list of eligible equipment and their associated rebates and installation requirements can be found here. In order to participate in the rebate program, residents must first fill out a Florida Power and Light Online Home Energy Survey and submit it for review. Once approved, residents should contact a participating contractor for an audit or installation when necessary. After audits and installations are complete, submit a rebate request form and proof of the completed work. Forms must be received by the Get Energy Smart Retrofit Program within 6 months of application approval. Rebates cannot total more than $3000 per household, plus $500 for the home energy audit.
