Exploration Basis

The USGS collected geophysical data near Blue Mountain and Pumpernickel Valley near Winnemucca to study regional crustal structures to help understand the geologic framework of Blue Mountain and help in mineral and geothermal reconnaissance.

 

Notes

Rock samples from outcrops and drill cores were collected. Data collected included: geographic coordinates, rock type, magnetic susceptibility, and density.
