New York State Department of Transportation
In 1967 the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) was formed to deal with the state's complex transportation system and the ever-increasing need to coordinate the development of transportation with each mode serving its best purpose. NYSDOT has 11 regional offices throughout the state to monitor public safety and provide local resources. Partnerships include councils and private industries, as well as, federal, state, city, and county agencies to uphold the mission and values.
