Artificial Intelligence for Marine Renewables; Use Cases in Marine Energy Generation Using Deep Learning: 09:00–10:00 UTC on 2022/06/20

The RENOVABLES project is hosting a webinar, “Artificial Intelligence for Marine Renewables: Use Cases in Marine Energy Generation Using Deep Learning”, from 4:00-5:00pm CEST (2:00-3:00pm UTC) on 20 June 2022. Artificial Intelligence has seen a great evolution over the last few years. The development of novel deep learning techniques in many new complex applications using unstructured and massive amounts of data has opened the door for new and applications and breakthrough transformations in many industries and scientific areas. Renewable generation and its integration into the electricity grids is an area where deep learning applications have great potential. The engineering of the renewable generation engines which generates large amounts of data, together with its intermittency, generates a promising test bed for new and deep learning-based approaches that allow increases of efficiency and reliability of renewable generation. Marine renewable approaches integrate the intermittency of the natural phenomena (wind, tides, waves) with engineered devices that generate large amounts of structured and unstructured data, in a rough environment that has its own limitations and challenges. In this conference we will discuss several promising research areas in marine generation where the application of deep learning is a use case under development either in the Academic research or in real-life application of the industry.
