Solar cell
Converts light into electrical energy. Traditional solar cells are made from silicon; second-generation solar cells (thin-film solar cells) are made from amorphous silicon or nonsilicon materials such as cadmium telluride; and third-generation solar cells are being made from variety of new materials, including solar inks, solar dyes, and conductive plastics.[1][2]
