Summary
Utah's Clean Fuel Loan Program provides low-interest loans to businesses and zero-interest loans to government agencies (including schools) for the purchase of clean fuel vehicles and refueling infrastructure.
Loans are available to cover the cost of purchasing OEM vehicles, converting a vehicle to run on a clean fuel, and the cost of refueling equipment (not including labor costs). Clean fuels include compressed natural gas, propane, methanol, and electricity.
To receive a loan, a Utah Clean Fuel Grant and Loan Program application must be completed, signed, and submitted to the Utah Energy Office. The recipient must agree to the following requirements: - provide collateral and execute a UCC Finance Statement; - provide a credit history; - provide proof of UCC filing; - agree to use the clean fuel a minimum of 70 percent of the vehicle miles traveled; - allow inspections of completed conversions, OEM vehicles purchased and refueling equipment; - notify the Program Manager of anticipated or planned vehicle turnover if this should occur before the repayment period ends or within 3 years of date of grant award; and - notify the Program Manager if the refueling equipment or vehicle becomes inoperable and agree to a remedy.
Loans can be filed on-line, in person, mailed, or faxed. The program Web site above provides directions for filing the application.
