Alabama Public Service Commission

From Open Energy Information

The Alabama Public Service Commission (PSC) designated by the Alabama Legislature in 1915 is intended to ensure a regulatory balance between consumers and regulated companies to provide consumers with services that are reliable, adequate and safe, at rates that are both economical and equitable. In 1968, the Natural Gas Pipeline Safety Act's Minimum Safety Standards were adopted and the natural gas transmission and distribution systems were placed under the PSC's jurisdiction for safety purposes.
