West Virginia Environmental Quality Board

The West Virginia Environmental Quality Board is a quasi-judicial Board of review responsible for hearing appeals regarding the issuance or denial of permits, permit conditions, or enforcement decisions rendered by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Water and Waste Management. The Board is composed of five members who are appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. Individuals appointed to the Board, by reason of previous training and experience, are knowledgeable in the husbandry of the state’s water resources, and at least one member has experience in industrial pollution control.
