Exploration Activity: Well Log Data At Dixie Valley Geothermal Area (Barton, Et Al., 1998)
|Exploration Activity Details|
|Location||Dixie Valley Geothermal Area|
|Exploration Technique||Well Log Data|
|Activity Date||1995 - 1998|
Well log data was used to investigate the relationship between permeability and the contemporary in situ stress field in the Dixie Valley Geothermal Reservoir.
Well logs recorded from six wells in the Dixie Valley Geothermal Reservoir were analyzed. Borehole televiewer, temperature and flowmeter data was recorded in the wells. Fracture and fluid flow data from wells within and outside of the active producing reservoir were collected. Data from the wells indicate that permeability is dominated by a relatively small number of fractures that strike parallel to the main range front fault .
