Incentive for all systems is an up-front payment equivalent to 7 times the cost of the energy displaced by the system using statewide utility costs. Incentive is limited to 50% costs after other incentives. This value is entered below, but Alliant also suggests figures of 15% of total costs for gov't and 20% of total costs for non-profits as a typical maximum incentives within the context of the "cost after other incentives" limitation.

Incentive/Summary Note: Deactivated because WPL does no offe
Note: Deactivated because WPL does no offer direct grants or other financial incentives to its customers. Rather, through the Focus On Energy Public Benefits Fund, WPL Customers (and that of other utilities) pay into the Renewable Energy PBF. WPL’s Renewables Incentive Program offers both low-cost financing and grants for solar-electric, solar water heating and wind projects undertaken by government or non-profit* entities. The grants program is designed to encourage the implementation of cost-effective non-residential renewable energy projects. It was developed as a voluntary initiative that provides incentives to be used in conjunction with all Focus on Energy, state and federal incentives. Individual system size is not limited under the program, but eligible systems must meet other applicable Focus on Energy equipment and installation requirements in order to be eligible for funding. The incentive amount is calculated as seven times the annual cost of energy displaced by the system, up to 50% of the remaining system cost after other incentives. Participants in WPL’s Advanced Renewable Tariff (ART) are not eligible to receive either a grant or project financing from WPL. Ownership of renewable energy credits produced by funded systems is subject to negotiation with the utility. Click [ here] for further information on Alliant Energy's interconnection requirements.
