City of Richmond natural gas customers are eligible for rebates for high efficiency natural gas technologies as part of the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) Conservation Rebate Program. Rebates are available for tankless water heaters, space heating equipment, programmable thermostats, and hot water heater insulation. In addition, residential customers can receive a $250 rebate for a home energy audit, and commercial customers can receive a $500 rebate. In order to receive a rebate, customers must first contact the DPU to request a rebate application by phone, email, fax or mail, then return the application by mail. Requests will be processed in the order that they are received. If the application is approved, the customer will receive a rebate certificate back in the mail. Supporting documentation must be postmarked within 120 days from when the customer receives a rebate certificate from the DPU.
