The Indiana Office of Energy Development (OED) is offering rebates to homeowners who replace an existing furnace, boiler, or water heater with an Energy Star certified, energy efficient unit in their homes. The following table summarizes the rebate amounts and minimum product requirements for each product type:

Natural Gas or Propane Furnace 90% AFUE or greater $400
Oil Furnace 85% AFUE or greater $400
Natural Gas or Propane Residential Boiler 85% AFUE or greater $750
Natural Gas or Propane Storage Water Heater Minimum 0.62 Energy Factor, Minimum 30 Gallon storage capacity $150
Natural Gas or Propane Tankless Water Heater Must have 0.82 Energy Factor or greater $250

To be eligible for the rebate, applicants must have a maximum household income of $75,000 or less, the system must replace an existing unit, and equipment must be installed between January 20, 2009 and April 30, 2009. Rebate funds are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. See the program website for more details.
