In New York, a developer may need a registration certificate from the Department of Environmental Conservation if the project will store petroleum or hazardous materials. A developer may also need a registration certificate from the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) prior to receiving petroleum into a storage tank system. Additionally, a developer may need to obtain a registration certificate from the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) prior to receiving a hazardous substance into a storage tank system. A developer should consider the project’s need regarding waste and hazardous material storage and disposal.
