In Mississippi, a hydropower developer may need an Oversize/Overweight Permit from the Mississippi Department of Transportation to transport loads that exceed the maximum dimensions or weight limit allowed on Mississippi state roads. Additionally, a developer may need a Highway Right-of-Way Encroachment Permit (Permit) from the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) for projects that encroach on a state highway right-of-way. A developer may also need to obtain a Construction Stormwater Permit from the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality for stormwater discharges during construction activities.
