Permitting at a Glance

Small Hydropower Program: Minnesota does not currently have a small hydropower program.
Renewable Portfolio Standard Process (RPS): Minnesota requires public utilities operating in the state to have at least 25% of retail electricity sales be generated or procured using eligible renewable sources by 2025. Minn. Stat. 216B.1691.
RPS Eligible: Hydroelectric facilities less than 100 MW.
RPS Regulatory Agency: Midwest Renewable Energy Tracking System (M-RETS); Michigan Renewable Energy Certification System (MIRECS)
