Bulk Transmission Development in Missouri

The Missouri electric grid is part of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s (NERC) Eastern Interconnection. In Missouri, SERC Reliability Corporation (SERC) and Southwest Power Pool, RE (SPP) are the regional entities, under NERC, charged with developing reliability standards and monitoring compliance for all owners, operators and users of the bulk electric system. The Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) is the primary balancing authority operating and managing the transmission system in the state.
