111th Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA) Annual Meeting +The 111th Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA) Annual Meeting will be held in person, September 12-15, 2021 at the Omni Providence Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island. This annual event provides a forum for conservation leadership and brings together more than 700 leaders from fish and wildlife agencies and conservation groups from all 50 states, U.S. Territories, Canada and Mexico in order to discuss conservation policy and management issues and accomplishments. Attendees include key decision makers in the field of fish and wildlife, including; directors, assistant directors, program managers, and others involved in fisheries, wildlife habitat, law enforcement, legal affairs, industry, as well as public affairs (information and education). Highlights of the event include collaborative committee and working group meetings, thought-provoking Plenary Session, recognition of outstanding achievements at the awards presentation, and plenty of social and networking opportunities.  +

This international workshop focuses on developments in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions trading around the world at the international, national and sub-national level. The 2011 workshop will cover topics relevant to the development of global, national and sub-national carbon markets, including scaled-up and new market mechanisms, NAMAs and sectoral crediting policies, MRV and international GHG accounting and 2nd-best trading programmes. As in previous years, the workshop will assemble representatives from government, business and independent research organisations to discuss advances in various national GHG markets, as well as the future of carbon trading and the "shuffle" to the COP 17 meeting in Durban."  +

11th European Bat Detector Workshop +In connection to the European Bat Research Symposium every three years, it has since 1991 been a tradition to organize a bat detector workshop just before or after the conference. With this years conference in Donostia (the Basque country), the 26 year old tradition was almost forgotten. So it is the pleasure of Nordic Chiroptera Information Center (NIFF) to invite you to the 11th European Bat Detector Workshop. The event will be organized at the Youth Hostel Lomakivi just 5 km north of Kausala, or 130 km northeast of Helsinki. The workshop will start on the same evening as the conference ends in Turku, allowing people to travel directly from one event to the other. The aim of the workshop is to get field training in practical bat work. This includes the use of various detectors, and capture techniques.  +
11th Okinawa Hawai’i Clean Energy Workshop +Since 2010, when the Japanese Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry, the United States Department of Energy, Okinawa Prefecture, and the State of Hawai’i signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to develop and deploy clean and renewable energies as the “Hawai'i Okinawa Partnership on Clean and Efficient Energy Development and Deployment,” there have been multiple activities focusing on the possibility of cooperative projects relating to the introduction of clean energy. As one of the activities, ocean energy workshops were held annually and included themes such as economic development, education, and resiliency. In 2020, Okinawa Prefecture will expand the theme to Clean Energy in general and hold a workshop in Okinawa (web format).  +
