PRIMRE provides broad access to information on engineering and technologies, resource characterization, device performance, and environmental effects of Marine Renewable Energy (MRE) projects. PRIMRE facilitates the commercial development of the MRE industry by increasing the accessibility and discoverability of this information, integrating the databases and information portals found on this site, and developing standards and guidelines. Providing consistent, easy access to information can help reduce duplication of effort and to enable the MRE community to build upon the successes of others to innovate and advance the adoption of MRE technologies.

Launched in 2019, the Portal and Repository for Information on Marine Renewable Energy (PRIMRE) was developed to serve as a centralized access point that enhances the accessibility and discoverability of information relevant to marine renewable energy (MRE) development and operations in the U.S. Part two of this two-part webinar series will highlight new features of existing PRIMRE Knowledge Hubs: Signature Projects, the Tethys Engineering Photo Library, and the PRIMRE aggregate search. Signature Projects are intended to bring focus to a selection of U.S. Department of Energy's Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO) projects. The Tethys Engineering Photo Library hosts photos and illustrations of MRE devices, arrays, and facilities that have been graciously provided by over 40 developers worldwide. Finally, the PRIMRE aggregate search enables users to find data and information from several PRIMRE Knowledge Hubs using a single entry-point.

As the dialogue around economic recovery evolves, there is an increasing role for emerging renewable energy sectors like marine renewables to contribute towards job creation, industrial development, and a resilient future for Canada. It is an optimal time to focus on how we can build back better through initiatives that support dual objectives of stimulating the economy and acting on climate change.

Over the past few weeks there has been exciting news on new projects, research and science initiatives to support regulatory predictability, and initiatives that span the country to support tidal and river current energy technology development.

For this year, a one day Fall Forum will be hosted in lieu of the annual conference to support its members and the industry.
